Max loves vacations, owing to his stressful existence here in Beantown, so we took him to Portland. Outside of his waking up at 3 in the morning, there was lots to smile about. Noah and Marianne and Becca and Jesse entertained up like champs and had a lot of ice cream on hand. There was a trip to the beach and long runs up a very tall hill. Long, long airplane rides were had with a small person on our laps. Coffee and microbrewed beer were consumed. We bought an entire Ling Cod. Have you bought an entire Ling Cod on vacation? Then you are missing out.

A good hat makes a trip to the beach with Grandpa and Cousin Jesse that much better.

Max got reaquainted with Grandpa Z. He spent the week saying "Pa, Pa" and looking around for the Big Guy.

Max spent quality time with his cousins, Becca and Jesse. When he meets people, he likes to hop into the tub with them and get a little crosseyed.

Becca also read to him. I believe this book is "5 Little Monkeys", which Max very much enjoyed. There is not much out there that is cuter than a 4 year old reading to a 1 year old.

So, who has neater hair?
